About Issaquah Youth Lacrosse

Issaquah Youth Lacrosse was founded in Spring 2004
by Scott Wiley and Matthew Balkman with two 7/8th Grade and two 5/6th Grade Boys teams.  Over the ensuing five years IYL has grown to a 2009 record 30+ teams which included Senior (7/8) Boys, Junior (5/6) Boys, Lightening (3/4) Boys, Senior Girls, Junior Girls and Lightening Girls.

In addition to supporting the largest youth lacrosse organization in the region, IYL now provides "Second-Season" opportunities for select motivated players at all levels and hosts two IYL post-season tournaments:  The 3v3 Chumash style Sammamish Shoot-Out (4th annual in 2009) and the Plateau Challenge, an invitational select tournament (inaugural event in 2009).

We expect this explosive growth to continue and as an all-volunteer Non-Profit organization the league is becoming increasingly dependent upon engaged parent-volunteers to maintain our current level of service to our communities youth.  The Issaquah Press documented IYL's rise to regional leadership in 2008 - "Regional Lacrosse Becomes State Powerhouse".
