Parent Volunteers are the Life-Blood of Issaquah Youth Lacrosse
Q: How can I help?
Parents, that is the right question! Unlike an increasing number of youth sports organizations, IYL has thus far been able to meet volunteer needs without "mandating" parent participation or increasing fees to hire paid staff. This means that everyone can and hopefully will help in some way during the season to make the best experience possible for your young players. Please consider what you can do to help; IYL needs parental support to be successful under our current all-volunteer structure. There are many tasks large & small that need willing hands at both the team and league level. This can include coaching (experience ot required), assisting, field operations, timeing, spotting, scoring, equipment, snacks, and a host of other cool ways to participate in your child's sporting life. Talk with your teams coaches and ask what you can do or send an eMail to
.
Most parents on the west coast know very little about Lacrosse and there is no better way to learn and share the experience with your kids than to volunteer on game-day. An hour or two a week is a great investment in your family and it touches the lives of everyone on your players team.
On those game-days when there are willing hands for every job there is still one more critical volunteer positon: volunteer to be a Fan; stay and cheer on your team! Your young players know and deeply appreciate this far more that they will say.
Remember - your IYL League is an all-volunteer non-profit organization. Without volunteers we cannot operate. There is always plenty to do and no experience or special Lacrosse knowledge is required!
